preventing rust....

Default preventing rust....

what do you guys use... i dont want my block to get rust on it caust im waiting on my head and its not going to be here until aug. 20-21...i put some 10w30 on the cylinderwalls and on the sleeve, what else is good.. and should i do it every week or so..

I would fill the cylinders with oil. All the way to the top. You cant get rust without air...

I made the mistake with my 289 of leaving it outside without heads on it, and it f'ed it up big time. Bored it .060 over and still it wasn't right...

WD-40

the WD stands for water deterent. When I was a kid, I used spray my ice skate blades with WD-40 to prevent them from rusting during the off season and it worked like a charm.

the only thing you should use is wheel bearing greese, that thick stuff and be sure to rub it in well.
