What would be a safe Bore to go to on an Ls block being built for an all motor setup. I want to go as big as i can.

to clarify what both people above said is this

if you stay with stock sleeves, you can only go 82mm max. I've done it on a few motors. there is plenty of sleeve there.

if you plan on sleeving, the biggest I would run on the street is 85mm. Anything bigger and you risk the reliability factor (mainly due to cooling/head gasket issues).

If its just going to be driven at the track, or when racing (no cruising around/Daily), then you can go 86mm on most sleeves, some even 86.5mm. But be prepared for minor issues to hurt the motor easier.

Hell, on my race car, I only went with a 85x95 setup so I could go bigger later if something ever happened. Sometimes you need to sacrifice making some power to enjoy longevity/piece of mind.

hope this helps.

I agree with Francisco.

82mm on stock sleeves
85mm on aftermarket sleeves

What are your power goals? You might be able to achieve you goal with stock sleeves.

compression is all about the cams, gas and tune. put a good combination of 3 together and you're golden.

but to answer your question, yes.

if you're going to run their cams, I would talk to them (or Bisi) about what compression they would like to see. You cant just pick common numbers. There is some technical reasons why more or less compression is good/bad

no no no. do the other way around. decide what cams make power where you want. (based on trans/tires, etc) then build around that.

you need to do some more research if you're going NA.

thats a terrible transmission to use.

depends on what tires/rims you use and how high you want to rev the car. you definately want some sort of short geared trans. usually, a 4.7 ITR trans is a standard all motor trans. get you right in the ballpark for most basic tire/motor setups.
