Engine is knocking
i have a 99 ex civic .. and they engine is knocking hard .. what is causing that to knock.. and how should i approach it .. should i just fix the motor or should i replace the motor .. and the car is burning oil too and i keep adding oil into my engine .. how should i fix this problem ..??
I'm assuming you have a stock D-series.
Rebuilding the motor may be more expensive than swapping it for another D-series (or upgrading to some sort of cheap B series like an Integra LS motor). Either way, the motor is likely going to have to come out to fix it.
Swap or replace is up to you. You could pick up a D-series longblock for about $300 used these days, it may be worth looking into.
