375xxx D15z1 Worth it?
In my current DD is a d15z1, still getting great MPG but has about 375xxx i know these motors can go up to 500k + but i'd rather not see that happen. Id like to know is it worth just rebuilding it and keeping the great MPG or just swap in another motor with less miles. Suggestions??

You can rent a compression and leak down tester at your local parts store. There are plenty of you tube videos that can show you the process of both.

Thanks for the help! Motor runs pretty smooth just idles a little weird but other than that i dont see any problems with it other than replacing some gaskets and my valve cover.

grumblemarc and speedjunkie have given you excellent advice. Basically, you give the motor a full physical and see how healthy she is. If it's good, then keep on running it til she drops. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/01/c...5-honda-civic/

I would also compare what kind of mpgs you are getting with other vx owners.

Re: 375xxx D15z1 Worth it?
Also, if the OP is from Kansas then his/her VX should be a "federal" model meaning it has the lean-burn mode as well as the shift indicator light. The fuel economy on these "federal" models is higher than the California models due to stricter emissions laws in California. This is something to keep in mind for the OP if he/she decides to compare fuel economy with another VX.
