SWAP ROOM ON THE CRX.
well with a b series it be packed pretty tight in there. I would say just remove the a/c but i see ya live in Texas lol. anything is possiable you will just need to think things out and plan before you start buying the turbo set up. like were the turbo and waste gate will sit of the manifold, what size of intercooler a front mount or a DSM side mount, size of piping, size of turbo ect...
Yeah man Texas is no joke with summer time. Do you have an instant messenger? I could use some pointers and advice. What size turbo should I get, where to look for these parts.

You said depending on the set up right? As in what size engine or where its placed?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The B16A and B18C basically use the same amount of room in the engine bay. The "only" difference dimensionally between the two is that the B18 stands a touch higher which has nothing to do with a/c.
The system can be done, but location of the turbo, manifold and wastegate have to planned carefully. A half rad will help the situation too.

It says I don't have instant message priveledges. Maybe because im still a trial user.
But what is a half rad? I can customize the location of the turbo, manifold and waste gate? There isn't a set way that the turbo's come with?
I need to find a shop in The central Texas area that can swap my stuff for me and do it correctly so I can still ahve AC

half radiator is from a 92-95 civic.
as for mounting the turbo you can mount it way of to the side if ya wanted to. just do some searching on a good shop that has a good rep. ill try and find some pics of different mounted tubos

Since supercharger is instant power, wouldn't there be an increase usage of gas?
Im trying to keep it a daily driver with saving usage on gas , and having a little power behind the wheels.
Would the half radiator from a civic fit on the crx? If so, I can buy one straight from a vendor and stick it on.

Half radiator from a civic works but I still doubt that ill solve your problem. A turbo isn't exactly going to help your gas consumption either, I mean you can only be so effective at staying out of boost.

only if you punch it. jackson blowers have a bypass valve that lets the motor run normally with no boost until you need it. i actually got better mileage on the freeway at cruising speeds.
you'll 'save' more gas with a SC than you would with a turbo.

O'rly? I was constantly get over 30 mpg at the 275hp mark on hondata. Hell, i think it went up when i put the turbo on

actually yes, ive heard from many this same thing.
that average is about 1-3 BETTER mpg after a turbo. not sure about the percentage ratio.

Ok, well then what about the ALL MOTOR ROUTE?
If I don't use the boost or the supercharger, and I go all motor...with Individual throttle bodies, will my MPG lower?
If so then im stumped *scratches head* lol...
No room for boost AND A/C
Supercharger drinks gas
All motor ?

Hell no, that think will drink fuel huge
performance and HP don't really go hand in hand
In my experience, i've got the best trade off with just doing a straight motor swap on a few cars. I've gained 60-80 miles per tank with swapping in dohc engines. Only reason for this is because the engine has much less work getting up to speed.

my all motor mini me right now is high compression 11.1, which means running premium gas, and i dont really get that great of gas milage
If you are worried about gas milage just do swap and add some simple bolt ons. header cold air intake maybe a MSD cap and coil. maybe some NOS.ect....

A supercharger isn't necessarily better than a turbo as far as MPG goes.
For good MPG, it all depends on part-throttle efficiency with RPM taken into consideration. A supercharger or turbo can do this, it just has to be set up for it. What most people end up doing is move the efficiency up to higher rpms and WOT; which results in worse fuel economy where you need it; part throttle and lower RPM.
I got 57mpg hwy from swapping a D15B1 to a (I/H/E/cam)D15B VTEC with DOHC ZC transmission/4.25 FD. :D In a lightened 88 Civic Std of course(front brakes are heavier than stock though)...cruising at 4000rpm.

Your right man.
I don't know much but a few things. I would say I know enough to not get me screwed over. I see so many options with the CRX, and im not used to it really.
I own a Lincoln LS, and I use to drive that around with 20 inch rims, and you can imagine what kind of MPG I was getting on that heavy gas guzzling machine.
Ever since I came out to Iraq, I thought it'd be smart to buy a smaller ride to commute to and fro from work.
Coeincedentally I ran into a seller on craigs list selling a running CRX in really good condition for 1300 around my area. So ideas started flowing because I always wanted one.
But your right, I am going to start off with the GSR swap at first, and go from there. It's better to start of small and slow, and work my way up from there.
I am really eager though, because I have a friend back home who runs a Trans AM with a few minor mods, and he thinks he's the fastest dude around. At the amount of mess he talks about Honda and 4 cylinder cars. I'd thought it would be funny to see the expression on his face to get beaten by a 91 CRX hahaha.
Plus I always wanted a CRX since highschool, and now I found one that's calling my name.
3 1/2 months till im home guys...15 month deployment in Iraq, and it's been a long one...
