Default The 50 dollar paint job.

So Ive decided to attempt this but I am a total noob when it comes to painting so I need some help. I have a ae86, paint on it right now sucks, fading here and there, etc. I dont need a great paint job, just a decent one. Being a poor college students sucks

Anyways, when sanding all the current paint off the car, Im guessing I start off with 100-200 grit? Do I go down to bare metal?

Then apply 2 coats of the paint. Wet sand around 600?

Apply 2 coats, wet sand around 1000?

Apply 2 coats, wet sand around 1500?

Apply 2 coats, wet sand around 2000?

Then wax and buff? Do you do this when the car is dry from wet sanding?

Im not too sure how it should go on procedures so I need some insight on this. Also I plan to use the spray gun so what percentage of mineral spirits should I put into when thinning the paint?

thanks.
