Default Valves not seating??? HELP

So I have a 99 b16 head . It's going on a 99 gsr block. I did my springs, retainers and valve seals (I used all Supertech) and I'm pretty sure I did a good job on the head. I used the tool from Ebay that everyone on here recomends. So I took it to a machine shop to get it milled and the guy at the shop told me the valves are not seating right on ALL cylinders. Do the valve seals need any special way to be changed.. I used a socket and a soft hammer to seat the valve seals all the way down.. Was it my fault or is this guy trying to herb me for some more money??

He's telling you the valves are not sealing against their seats. That has nothing to do with the valve seals you installed. He probably wants to do a valve job for you. If you trust him, do it. If not, take your business elsewhere.

I don't quite know if the sarcassim has made it through the posts, lol.
Have him show you it leaking either thru a vaccum test or if they are really bad putting solvent or some other thin fluid other then water in the ports and see if they leak from the valves.

Why bother, just put the head on with the new springs and cams and bitch about the tuner only getting 187 WHP when everyone else in the US is getting 200. I am sure a nine year old valve job and carbon build-up will support 200 wheel. Why even surface the head, Honda work not good enough?

new valves + old beat up valveseat (no new vj) = extra cfm seeping thru when valves are shut

= fantabolous WHP result

You might want to get a valve job.

Should defintately get a performance valve job. At the very least, regring the seats to ensure proper seal. Listen to guys who have replied to your post, they are the best of the best at what they do
