I'm in the middle of changing my valve seats and wanted to know a good way for removing the carbon build up.
I had the head degreased when they resurfaced it, but i had the valves in. Just saying .
I already have the valves out and am wondering what the best method for removing the carbon build up?
I'm debating break cleaner, oven degreaser?

you could always just buy new ones, they're relatively cheap.
but carb cleaner would probably do that trick.

i sprayed brake cleaner in a shot glass, put a valve inside it and then sealed it up in a zip-loc bag. I'm going for a run so i'll check back on it later to see if it comes off easier.
maybe brake cleaner was not the right stuff to get?
