easily done... i cant exactially remember what it is..but the ports on the b16 head are better then the ones on the b18 .. and will actually make ur compression go up.... a pormans type-r is a decent way to make power ... if your on a budget...

good thing is that the gsr block has the oil ports and same with the head.. so you dont need to tap and run a ls-vtec oil line supply to the head...

id recommend it aswell.... but i can guarentee that people wont

will it work?

sure.

work correctly? probably not

if you are doing something nice, treat the engine right and get an engine management + tuning.

Putting a stock b16 head on a stock gsr block will NOT be a poor man's type r. It will make less power than a stock gsr due to the lowered compression and less agressive cams. Despite popular belief the pr3 head is NOT vastly superior to the p72 head from the factory. In fact 8 out of 10 times a GSR head will make more power on the same setup. The main advantage of pr3 heads is the choice of intake manifolds.

I'm not sure why people don't like hearing this flat truth.

Its should be noted that using a P72 head gives .1 higher compression over a pr3 due to the smaller square quench area.
The P72 head also has a slightly more direct airpath from the intake manifold to the valve which is provided good flow even at lower rpm which often makes 2-4hp to the wheels up to about 5500rpm over the pr3. That being said, the pr3 makes the same 2-4 hp more at the wheels over 5500rpm.
