I hope someone might have experienced a similar issue and can point me in the right direction.

I have recently ran into an issue where my cars electrical system is possessed. Any time I open either door on the car, every light on or in the car begins to flash as if I have turned on my hazard lights. Upon closing the door the lights stop blinking, stay illuminated for a few seconds and then slowly fade off. After this I still hear a clicking sound similar to what the hazards or turn signals sound like, only amplified. The sound is coming from the dash. Any time I put the key in the ignition or start the car, all symptoms disappear. I thought it might be a bad relay or possible fuse that I have blown, but I have no idea where to begin and working on a fixed income makes taking it into the shop a hard venture for myself.

The car has started up every time with no problems, but as of recently the check engine light is on while the car is running.

Any ideas? I appreciate it.

BTW- there was a new car stereo installed about 4 weeks prior to this issue.
