Anyone have a specific cool down procedure for their cars...especially after a hard run?
I usually leave the car on, in neutral for a few mins, with the heater on high. I also try not to use the e-brake, or atleast put it on lightly.

hehe "drive hard, put away wet" >> this is why every Acura service rep gives gs-r and type-r owners the evil eye when they bring the car in for warranty work hahaha
popping the hood is good too...
edit\\\ just never drive with the hood popped... that = cracked radiator (top) and incorrect airflow (could unevenly cool engine).

I warm her up for a good 5 minutes, longer in the Winter.
I cool her down for at least 3 minutes, even in the Winter

its meant to be used and abused.

I don't warm up or cool down and I don't burn oil either.
I run hard, then as I get within 3 miles from my house, I drive granny-style... then, once I get home, I let it idle for ~5 minutes with high heat.
Have a fan blowing at the front facia and open up the hood after hot laps...that's what RTR guys do. For me....I would put high heat, open hood (just release the latch and drive around slowly without braking to cool the brakes as well. Smetimes I en turn on the AC because that activates the fan immediatly. I am considering buying one of those Mugen fan switch that activates the fan at lower tempertures.
After 5 minutes or so, I'll just put in gears and let it sit. When simply driving home, I hardly do any cool down process.

I usually will turn the AC on when I want to cool down the engine espically when there's no strong wind blow into the car( like in AutoX ). With the AC(and the fan) on, the coolant temp. can drop from 205 *F to 185 *F even the car is not moving.....I do these all the time when I'm waiting on the line in autoX.
Auto-start the car while brushing teeth...warm car up for 5 minutes before leaving...when I arrive I stop and turn on the "turbo-timer" to continue car running for 2 additional minutes. If I have been on the track I will pop the hood and let the car idle for a couple of minutes...leaving the hood popped until I am ready for the next session.
