Default high idle in high heat?

well like 3 weeks ago i drove on the highway for just over an hour, and when i stopped at a light the engine was idling at 2000rpm, so i shut it off for a bit and it was fine, but now everytime i drive and it gets warm it starts idling at 2 again, and today in traffic it started idling at 3000, i drive a 1992 honda civic Sir, (b16a) .. any help on this?

yeah man, thats what i did when it first started happening. but it doesn't drop then raise and so on, it just sits at like 2000 constantly, till i move again, then it'll do it each time.. and it seemed it was alot hotter when it idled at 3000. so thats why i'm thinking its about cooling or something? but i dunno

try adjusting your fast idle valve, with it running at high idle take the top cover off and adjust it down.

think that could be it though? cause its not like its overall idle. only when the engine gets hot it does it. and on hotter days its worse, but from start up its fine, idles perfect, then driving its fine, till it gets warmed up then it does it. so i was thinking something with cooling? maybe. but i dunno

he said that it only idles highly when it gets hot. changing the valve wouldnt do anything.
