if wanted to please move to how to page
my valve cover was already off it was an extra one i had
remove valve cover refer to helms or chiltons manual for this step sorry
removing seals
flip your valve cover over and you will see the 4 circle seals

next find a medium size wrench this is what i use all the time 12mm to be exact
place on the seal 2 difefrent ways shown

next pry down on the end of the wrench they can be a pain to get out sometime but just work it and it will pop out

next clean any oil from the seat of the valve cover were the seal seats and use your fingers to press new seals back in

do this to all 4 them use a new valve cover gasket, add a little silicone to the corners and reinstall valve cover

yes very good point if your valve cover has alot of crap inside you can use brake cleaner to clean it out make sure it completley dry of cleaner before you reinstall, or take it to a machine shop to get jet washed, which is were these are heading lol

Canadian Tire sells crappy rubber gaskets, the fit terrible! I did a head gasket and valve covers out of town once and had no choice, but they suck.
Go oem, the will last 5 years or longer, trust me, its worth it

I wouldn't say that. In Canada, they cost $7.71 plus tax

Ok, I'll give bonus points to whomever can tell me how to change the seals on a 92+ D valve cover, the little seals that go on the bolts. If you've ever tried to change one you know what I mean.
The rubber seal should be able to separate from the metal "washer" that it comes with. Apply a small amount of grease or oil to the "seat". Then gently slip them off one at a time.
Or you could always grind or sand down the "seat" just enough until the seal slips over it easily. Problem solved.
