Default Check Engine Light

My check engine light will not go off. This isn't the normal it has a code in it. I know how to check the code and it stays light when I install the connector to jump the wires. When I turn the key to the ON position all lights come on on the cluster and the check engine light chould go off after a few seconds, but mine is staying lite. Any ideas? Like I said I have tried to read codes but I get nothing just a lite bulb.

When you turn the car to on the light should go off, but mine does not. The only thing we can think is that the pcm is bad.

I've read that in quite a few posts. If you get a solid cel that stays solid when you jump the connector, there is a failure in youe ecu board. I have no personal experience with this, but thats what I've read.

Check that thread out.

OP, try resetting the ecu by pulling the backup fuse under the hood or disconnecting the battery.

It could also be a wiring harnesss issue. Within the last month I had a the rear tranny mount bolt vibrate out. (WTF? ya that's what I thought) I had no choice but to drive it as I was in the middle of a 550 mile trip. But anyways the night after I arrived while I was waiting on the bolt from honda I pinched a wire on my engine harness somewhere and got a solid cel until I pulled the harness and repaired it.

cliff's notes: If you put in another ECU and you still have a solid cel then it may be a wiring harness issue.

correct but, that is why I did the diagnose in the manual. it has you check the wires that could be gound to the body that aren't. after the test all of the wires checked out it said replace ecu.
