hi,
i checked my b18's bore before i install my new pistons and cylinders 2 and 3 are out 6 thou, and cylinders 1 and 4 are right on. i was wondering if 6 thou is enough to worry about cause im using 81 mm pistons.

sorry i'm sayin my cylinder walls are out of round .006, i read a manual that says .006 is the limit, any opinions?

that is quite large then even on the other 2 cylinders.

cast or forged pistons?

cast should be around .0011-.0015 IIRC

what is the top ring gap?

anyone else please, i would appreiate it, also does anyone know the max the block can be out of round, and any more opinions on .006 and whether it will do anything. thanks

Get the block bored .010" or .25mm over and install new pistons and rings.

first measurement (top)
second measurement(middle)
third measurement(bottom)

bore taper limit (difference between top and bottom) = .002"

hrm. oops. when i built my engine i automatically bought oversized pistons. i figure high milage engine. ovaled walls etc. etc.
