Default COMPLETE rebuild

Me and my friend plan on pickin up a decent engine from a junkyard and fixing it up. I mean puttin in high compression pistons, performance cranksshaft, con rods, etc. Its a big rpoject and we know it will cost alot. But my question is what is the best honda engine we shood get? what will give is more option and tuning abilities? We dont plan on gettin a turbo or anything just a good rebuild

Haha slow down cowboy,

1st - I checked for my CAI/SRI I thought I had and don't have it anymore so apologies on that

2nd - Worry first about maintenance on the car rather than dropping $xxxx into a new motor and building it

3rd - Motor was the LAST thing I did in my upgrades Wheels, maintenance, suspension, etc was first then the motor work

*edit*

I also know you're 16 and it's probably your first car, just take it slow and try not to dump too much money into it.

My suggestions from my experience:
1) Maintenance (Timing belt, water pump, etc get the motor running in top condition)
2) Wheels/Tires (make a HUGE difference over stock)
3) Suspension (struts and springs = much better looks/handling if done right)
4) Goodies (Appearance/minor motor = headlights, intake/exhaust, etc)
5) Evaluate options (motor swap, turbo, etc)

You could (and can easily) spend over $3000 on just #1-3

Personally depending on the mileage I'd turbo. I went full H22A swap however as my motor was at 200k miles.

And you're referring to the G22, do some searching on it.

Not worth the swap really.

If you don't want to turbo look at the bisimoto cams - those and supporting mods netted 170hp I believe?

If your worried about keeping your MPG don't even think about adding any of the things you listed in your original post. You should look at rebuild the engine and keeping it stock. You'll be good for another 200K+ with 28-30MPG. Any HP adders will drop your MPG.

to be honest. sounds like your just wanting to play. you could do yourself a favor and do some deep research before you just go out on a limb. save yourself the time and the money and come up with a better plan and better yet a better approach. the saying is, do it right the first time. but your initial question could have been answer had you used the search option in the upper righthand corner.

man get you a h22a from a prelude si and the ecu (mabye tranny),all you would really ahve to do is get a good set of cam gears, and a badass clutch mabye pistons, your lookin at about 2000 installed and back on the road

camgears and a h22 in an accord doesn't =fast. fast, reliable, cheap. pick two and go with it. you can't have all three. also just a prelude si won't get you a h22 motor. you'll get a h23 instead.
