Its a worth while modification.

In testing i did about 8 years ago on an ITR mani runners gained 9-11 cfm each with no other changes in a very controlled test. On a 200 whp 1.8 about 6-7 whp gains were seen consistantly on several motors. One tid bit of advice i can offer is make sure your header is premium and restriction free and also the intake side before the throttle body.

Every intake manifold i have is extrude honed if thats any indication.

Nice i heard of alot of NA guys doing it to skunk2 intake manifolds and gained the same amount of power. Im jsut wondering what there prices are and so forth.

I have a longer runner v6 intake manifold i would like to get done as long as its not 1000 dollars or some like that lol.

I only use it in situations where it is difficult or impossible to do the work by hand. Most intake runners are easy to port with regular tools and you get more control over the shape and size than with Extrude Hone.

Look on the bright side its cheaper than buying the $250k machine that does it.

there is actually a lot involved and if they have never done your type of intake manifold before they will have to make some fixturing and adapters. Its actually a pretty fair price after you factor in all the work involved. Maybe if you have some friends that have the same vehicle you can get them together and do multiple units at one time for a lower unit cost.

Another option is to leave your car stock and enjoy the factory rated HP for free.

I vote for an engine swap over extrude honing. You have more displacement being a V6, but is it really worth it on your daily driver 3600lb truck with only a 150hp base? I think your wasting your money, BUT its your money.

Oh i am doing a engine swap right now the 2.5 to a 2.7L.Its a 35hp and 38Ft lb jump from the 2.5. Im porting the heads out and valve job. Either bore the TB or ill weld a flange to it either 62mm or 65mm throtle body. But the intake is a big bottle kneck. Im going to get another intake and see if i can find someone to cut it open straight, and hand port it then weld her shut. Well see.

JDM crx, the head is probably not the main restriction on your motor. If your intent on extracting more power stick to header, exhaust, intake improvements. the next restrictions would be in the cam and compression areas. i dont know what type of engine it is but if its a 4 valve per cylinder or even a modern 2 valve it probably flows plenty of air. also factor having 6 intake ports feeding 2.7 liters. if you have 180 cfm per cylinder stock thats a total of 1080 cfm for example a b motor head flows about 240 stock in the usable cam lift range for a total of 960 cfm. i am certain you have plently of cfm flow in the head you just need to better optimize the header, exhaust , intake , cam and bump the compression a bit. another 50 whp would be pretty easy if each was improved a bit over stock.

Very true. The motor already has long tube headers 32" primaries 1.5". 2.5" Exhaust manderal. 3" ALum intake with a velocity stack. Im running AEM EMS on it . The motor is a v6 2.7L 24 valve 9.5 to one compression.

I was going to get a set of wiseco pistons made do a 11:0 compression but this motor is super exspensive to get bearings for it.and i may be boosting it. Only place is suzuki. And just for rod and mains and thrust im looking at around $350 plus tax.I sort of wanted to leave the bottom end stock for now.

This is what i was thinking. CLean up the heads a bit port then out slightly. 30 deg back cut on the valves and get a valve job done 3 or 5 angle on intake and 3 on the exh. Cut the intake manifold open and port it out a bit and weld it back up. The TB bore it from 58 to 62mm.
