An intake manifold by itself hardly ever allows for any notable performance benefit. You'll need a properly matched throttle body and intake, as well as a decent header and exhaust before the manifold begins to show any real gains. Most of the time these gains are minimal enough to not notice at all until you get the car on a dyno.

Re: (Kendall)
skunk2 intake manifolds only give you real power from 7000-9000 rpms anyway. that is the prime rpm range where you would definatly notice a difference, although a good header, a bigger tb, and cam would help the manifold work to near its potential.

Hehehe, I told you to do a search mainly.
There are plenty of threads about it I’m sure.
Hopefully some SOHC guys will give you some tips.

i too have a skunk2 intake manifold and the difference was slightly noticable up top, but i did notice a slot loss in low end power. personally, if i did it all over again i would have kept my stock intake manifold and saved myself $260. I read a study somewhere on http://www.d-series.org that a stock y8 intake mani already flows 97% of the air your combustion chambers can use, so and upgrade really won't do much, assuming that the skunk2 can flow more than 97% of the air your engine can use. the only way i can see the skunk2 IM being able to increase performance significantly is for boosted and nitrous applications. and portmatching a TB with the IM, along with the standard I/H/E will help the car run better anways.
