Default Home made cold air intake...???

My budget is a bit tight and was thinking about makin a CAI out of PVC piping and puttin a nice K&N filter on the end. But do yout think a <150$ brand name intake is worth it? and do you think this would work well?

Hey Ricer, go to Ebay buy a CAI and then buy a K&N for it. Don't be that cheap now. If you are on a tight budget then I'm assuming you have higher priorities. I would hold off on the CAI until you can situate your funds.

That just might work. but as for strength, I am not too sure. I would go ahead and buy an intake system. I got mine used on eBay for $50 AEM CAI with filter. Pretty good deal. Best part i ever bought....

Honestly? The easiest thing to do is to remove the air box resonator, ghetto and effective

I used to do that, though let me see if I have a spare intake tube laying around you can just have it if I do

^^Did this for a few years, works great.

If you really want something new, that uses a cone style filter, I would say go with a cheap ebay style short ram intake with a quality filter (AEM DryFlow, K&N, etc.).

It will make the same type of power as a standard AEM intake would, only it costs 1/3 the price.
