Ok, this isn't my car, but a friends which I'm trying to help get running. Heres what i know...
My friend nick has a 91 Integra LS with the jdm b16a (obd0) in it. He blew up his engine with nitrous at the track last summer. He tore it apart and rebuilt the bottom end, and bought a type r head and put that on. I wasn't there to witness the head being put on and the bottom end being rebuilt but I'm trusting him that it's all together correctly. All the wiring looks fine, and I've been researching vacuum line placement on here and everything looks fine. He doesn't have a charcoal canister so I plugged which lines i could remember needed plugged, and we tried starting it. NOW, when we start it, it starts right up. When we rev it it sounds like its misfiring (kinda sounds like a subaru lol). we feel the exhaust mani and only 3 out of 4 cylinders are pushing out hot air at a time, the 3 hot tubes from the header are warm... then one ofthose 3 starts getting cold and another one gets warm, like it will only run 3 out of 4 cylinders at a time, but no particular cylinder doesnt run everytime its running. we took off the dizzy cap and the rotor is all broked around the outside of the point that needs to be there, but the part that connects with the points is still there. he said it was running the same way before he had dropped the rotor and broke it. I myself think that could be the problem, or the whole distributor itself. does this sound correct? we checked the spark and couldnt get them to spark, but if they werent sparking how would the engine even run in the 1st place? its a damn wierd situation and idk what else to tell him except try a new distributor. anyone else have any other ideas?
idk if maybe i hooked some vacuum lines up incorrectly maybe? im an sohc guy and kinda used common sense as to find where they would go on the b16. also, what distributor/cap/rotor would he need for the obd0 jdm b16a? advanced auto doesnt seem to have it, but napa does have one for a 91 civic siR and i think that one would be the same... but i could be wrong

As for the cap and rotor go... I'm not positive on this, but you could probably just get a cap and rotor for any OBD0 dizzy. It might all be the same part number for any B series dizzy but I'm not sure on that either. If it doesn't work then just return it, and you're back to square one.

i havent been over there, had to spackle and paint the new apartment all day. i guess he just put new spark plugs in and its not misfiring anymore. but it still wont rev past 3k and wont idle very well. im guessing its in limp mode, i know nothing about limp mode, but im about to do some research, what do you know about it?
and his cel light ON the ecu just stays on, doesnt flash what does this mean?
