Re: Help With B16 Swap to 91 acura integra (NIGHT-DEMON)
Thats probably the hardest swap in the world. I think there was like one that has been done by a shop about 2 years ago. You would be better off going k20 MUCH easier.
Now before you start one of these stupid b16 sucks threads do a search. I have personally replied to about 5 threads of people asking about this so there is alot of info out there.

Geez, are b16's in a DA that slow to be bashed on? I'm on a budget with my DA, and that might be my route, since my other car is where my $$ goes.

Re: Help With B16 Swap to 91 acura integra (VTECth1s)
Its not that they are a bad motor its just everyone bashes them, then it turns into a 2 or 3 page thread of completly useless info just people going at it it.

what???
its B series to B series. it literally bolts in. wth are you talking about? the JDM 90-93 integra came with a B16 from the factory. There will be some minor wiring differences going from LS to a vtec motor, but physically, it all bolts in. Make sure you use the B16's close ratio transmission. Try to get a swap that has come out of a jdm 90-91 integra (might be 89-90 in japan), and not a 90-91 civic/crx SiR.
if you already have a civic Si-R engine, you'll need to use all the motor mounts off of your LS engine.

Re: Help With B16 Swap to 91 acura integra (ek forever guy)
"With a da you should just swap in the gen's gsr motor.
Leave it cable and just get an obd0 1.7+"
no such 1.7 B-series VTEC motor exists for OBD0.
you guys act like the b17 is a b16 killer. the XSi/SiR OBD0 b16 is rated at 160ps, which equals to about 157 hp.
the B17 is rated at 160hp. i dont think 3 hp makes an entirely huge difference.
Your LS should have pretty much all the misc. things you need for the swap (mounts, alternator, ps pump, axles, intermediate shaft, and you could even use the 90-91 clutch and flywheel if you so desire, as well as the engine harness.)
You can get away with buying just the motor, trans, ecu, distributor, IM, and header. You'll pretty much just be reusing the parts from the LS.

You think a guy that asked if a b16 into a DA has ever been done will know something like that? But I guess your just as intelligent as him.

Not saying there bad motors, B16's are awesome and I have much respect for them as any other b-series vtec motor. I was just asking if they are that SLOW, when swapped into DA as what many people say.

Many people say they are slow, but do you really go by what people say? I have numerous time slips from my integra with a stock LS in it and then I put a XSi swap into it. My fastest for both motors with the same mods was 15.7. A stock b16 is just as fast as a stock LS motor.

Just havent had the chance to be in a stock b16 DA, every car ive been have been 1.8's including my previous gsr and ls-vtec's. But with bolt-ons, valvetrain upgrades the 16 should be a good drive I presume.
