Default is my engine worth keeping?

i have a d16z6 my original plan when i bought the car was to drive on it until i raised the funds for a b18 maybe next year, then rebuild the d16 and throw it into something else( i always had a soft spot for those ef hatches). but now after a blown hg 2 stripped bolt holes in the block it looks like the swap is coming sooner. the thing is i had a no start issue right after i bought it and i took a while to get to hg as the problem, now i have a bunch of new parts on this motor i cant return and wont work on the next engine, should i keep it tear it apart rebuild it, just replace the block, sell off the parts individually and just forget about it? thanks just looking for some opinoins

Well depends on your goals and how your bank is right now. I mean it would probably be cheaper to rebuild since you have parts laying around already, then to buy a whole other engine. But if your bank is good and you gonna be swapping later then swap it out now that you have an excuse.LoL. Also you stated that if you swapped you'd still keep the D for something else. So why does it matter if you rebuild now or later if you going to swap it into another car? I think the question here is how's your bank?

You shouldeither:
A. take the block to a machine shop so they can fix your bolt holes
B. sell your d16 to me for $50

Just putting it out there

sell the parts on here or on craig's or something while they are still brand new, you'll get more for them.

spending money on a dseries is like pissing in the wind.
(some people may think deferently but when all is said and done- its true)
