Chipped P28 or JDM PCT ECU
ive asked this question to many times but i need to know which is better for my setup.. I have a 00 JDM B16B CTR motor in a 92 hatch CX, and i want more reliability then anything. I understand that the P28 is tunable but i dont have money like that to be going out of my way to tune the motor, and sacrifcing reliability. with the JDM CTR motor its already got power and the JDM PCT ECU doesnt sound bad with its 8400 RPM redline, and what ever its crossover is, and the other thing is i cant even get a stock CTR program on a p28, and then also the p28 doesnt even have a knock sensor, thats why they all come disabled. and having a knock sensor i think is a good thing for the motor for reliability....i need help desiding on what ECU to go with, let me know what all of you guys think personaly thanx guys

OBD1 P30 and P72 have knock sensors, and are chipable the same as a P28. (if that helps)
if you don't want to tune the ECU, get a PCT.
Converting an OBD1 car to run with a JDM OBD2 ECU is not as difficult as you may think. (JDM OBD2 is pretty much is the same as our OBD1 as far as emissions)
I run a JDM ECU in my 92 hatch, with a conversion harness that I made, no extra wires required. (other than knock sensor)
an identical conversion harness can be purchased from numerous places.

I think the PCT made the OBD2a to OBD2b jump from 98-99 unlike most of the other JDM ECUs, but I'm not positive on that, you'd have to check your ECU to know which you have.
NOTE: with the JDM ECU you do not need the additional second O2.
