Default Installing d16 head - help

I'm a noob when it comes to cars getting my hands dirty (for the first time) and trying to learn at the same time. So I got a project 94 Civic with a blown head. I got a head off here and following the Haynes manual sucks. Well I got the head off and now I want to put the new D16Z6 head on. What do I need to know before I do this? As for timing goes. How do I get the head back in time? Besides match up the TDC and the UP with the cover. Any pointers ? Thanks guys!

just be sure the lower timing mark is in the right spot and #1 cylinder is all the way up and line up the heads timing marks. not really difficult...

notice in this picture the lower timing mark arrow and theres a small grove cut into the crank gear, youll probably need to clean the gear to see the mark it gets gummed up very easily! the arrow is also hard to see with the motor still in the car!
just be sure that arrow is pointing at the line on the crank gear and the cam gear timing marks and UP is up all right. and i believe thats it.
tho i never pulled my head off. i just replaced timing belt and oil seals.
