OT- b16b compression results
yeah that would tell you if you loosing compression thru the rings or if its the valves....and if it has leakage then add cap full of oil to the cyl if it then has barely any leak then it rings if nothing change its the valves
pretty sure my B16B put out ~220psi averaged across.
but i would be more concerned about that low 165 hole
but like was already said, compression testers are all of different quality/age/calibration/etc. i just use the same one for all my motors, and compare them against each other and mainly look that all the cylinders are within ~5psi.
ps: always down to point out the obvious, but the throttle was held wide open right?

even if it wasnt he tested them all the same and those numbers def reveal the need for a bottom end rebuild, while doing the bottom end i would replace the valve seals in the head as its not worth it having the motor apart and putting it back together to reveal that they needed replacement as well

yes the average b16b puts out 220 but guages vary.... is the guage new test someone elses car also to if its the same or lower i have used a craftsman before that said my motor had 220 and then used a snap-on that said my motor had 180 so do that and a leakdown and go from there

yes but the fact is the numbers arent even close to each other, i would do it again, add a cap full of oil to the lower cylinders and if the #'s go up it needs rings, chances are with the numbers its in need of a rebuild
