Well I searched and I know this topic has come up a few times, but I am wondering if anyone has had success with this?
I remember a month or so back someone PM'ed me saying that they could insure an ITR for less than 500 a year for driving less than 2K miles/year.
If that's the case that works for me, so does anyone have any more info? I think the past threads have said that Hagerty won't do it, but is there another way around? Anyone have any tried and true info they would like to share?
Paying AAA 1300/year doesn't seem too sane on a car I'd drive at most once a week

you can try Hagerty Insurance. I tried last year but they didnt do Mass at the time. Just let them know that its a limited production car
Show Hagerty this, it's from Kelley Blue Books' web site, see what happens.

Yep true, but as long as I can lump in with the rest of those virgin ITR's insurance wise I'm okay with that.
My car has seen hell and back. I'm never going to sell it. Part of my personal collection to pass on to the kiddies

my insurance company here i have in oklahoma well let me have "collector" insurance on my itr. they dont call it "collector", but they call it something else.
my insurance now is 1200 every six months. i pay 200 monthly for my itr and my ek hatch. im 22, almost 23, and have had 3 wreckless driving tickets, and a bunch of speeding tickets from my dumb *** years of youth.
the other insurance im going to put on it when its paid off in 6 months or so is going to be i believe like 500 every 6 months, which is 1000 a year but i pay monthly. i dont remember exactly becasue i talked to them a while back about it, but i believe the milage was around 2k or so a year. i know it was a little less than 200 miles a month
now if there is a car show or track day or some ish thats in a diff state or what not, you can call them and make arrangements to cover the trip.

USAA offers collectible insurance, not sure how much it would cost though.

I have USAA too.... I will have to give them a call ........
Does anyone know how the value of our cars would be assessed?
mine has 138k on the odo, but it has never been in an accident, all vins match, and does not burn any oil.....
I have thought about calling USAA and telling them I want to insure the car for 15-18k.... so if it gets stolen,or totalled I can buy another one in similar condition.....

And I think thats dumb to pay that much to only be able to drive it 2k miles. I pay the almost same thing and can drive as many miles as I want.

I just got off the phone with Hagerty Insurance. Don't waste your time calling them. The lady I spoke with said, and I quote; "This program is mainly designed for Chevys, Fords, GM's that are 1987 or older." I had trouble getting clarification on why it doesn't meet the guidelines. I'm going to go back to my original plan.

Yes, I was the person that PM'd you about collector car insurance for the ITR.
Yes, you can insure your ITR as a collector car.
I pay $300 a year full coverage for my ITR. $150 for liability
I'm allowed about 4000 miles a year.
No inspection.
They only check your miles on odometer. Once every 2 years.
This is the same as QQ, antique, historic registration/insurance but you have normal plates, a triangle shaped collector car inspection sticker.
Hobby, show, event, cruise, collector use only
My company is called xxxxxxx PM me please thank you.

234 was with AAA and paid ~$1200/yr. Last year, switched to state farm. 234 is insured as pleasure vehicle (<5K/yr) along side two CRVs (00 & 07). For all three cars, it's less than $1500

Hagerty and other collector car insurance companies require a lot, first it has to be older than any ITR in the world, then it has to be in a garage, and there are mileage limitations. I know a number of people with Hagerty, but all are for 25+ year old cars.

your best bet is to probably go thru an insurance agency
I tried Hagerty and supposedly the only reason they gave me a hard time was because my daily car was OLDER than my "collector" car. Which is BS because if my "collector" car was a 2008 Ferrari FXX, and my daily was a 1992 civic, that would mean they wouldnt insure the Ferrari. And Im pretty sure they wouldnt question insuring a Ferrari based on what year your daily driver is. So it was definitely
