well while googling random things i came up on this topic..

i read through the whole thing, and really started wondering how these 2 would do against each other, but in the topic they discuss the UK and JDM model TUrbo with 240hp so they compared it to the N/A version with 185. but i got to wondering how the R would do against a USDM stock MR2?

I have spoke with someone who has owned both. The MR2 Turbo has great potential when it comes to creating HP. However in its MR form it still handles like a boat on a road course in near stock form.

you make too many statement. you must be an expert.
kinda like blox. make parts with no r & d to back up.

Hahaha I sold my turbo deuce to buy my ITR. The MR2 was only fun going in a straight line.

 

The only thing these two cars have in common is that they are both imports...

front engine, N/A FWD 4seater
VS
mid-engine (some Boosted) RWD two seater.
It's like comparing a 73 Vette to a 85 Yugo

MR2 VS Lotus Elise would be more like it.

I was thinking about that person as well. He sold the MR2 and still wants an R back.

 

Funny, a local AutoXer is selling his MR2 and ITR since he just picked up an S2k CR

DAMN. Its kinda hard to fault that one.

 

If the MR2 didn't have MacPherson struts, I'd want one. I always liked they way they looked, and the 3S-GTE is a great engine. Don't see very many of them on the road these days. When they were new, it seemed most of them were driven by chicks, though.
