ideas about my civic
I have a 2000 civic si and i was wanting to make it fast enough to beat up on gsr and preludes and other stuff but still keep it as my everyday driver. I was thinking about building the engine for high compression. But then i thought that would be point less cuz i probably wont even get over 200hp. So then i priced out the ITR engine from someone and that was $2500 for a long block. Would it be better to get that or build my engine. Or maybe another swap that isnt to much either. I would like to spend betweem $2500-$3500. Or should i turbo my stock b16a2 would that be safe though for and everyday driver.

Turbo... you should come out easier and cheaper then a swap. Plus it should be just as reliable if done right and about the same power wise. Get it tuned right if you boost it tho.
yeah bro boost what you got. had a friend boost that same motor got 312 at the wheels and he put like 30000 miles on it. im runnning a boosted motor in my car that has seen about 50,000 mile and still strong. its all in the tuning
ive beat a prelude, and gsr's dont get to far up on me usually stay pretty close. mines na. but turbo is the best way to go to make some good power. throw some cams and valve springs in, turbo, and a tune, you should be able to make 300whp easy and safely.
