Default Eg Leaking...HELP A NOOB

Alrighty honda guys.. anyone ever hear of a civic leaking mass amounts of water onto the floor....

I just got a civic a couple months ago and i started noticing that when the sprinklers are on or it rains alot...my floor would be kind of damp...

well we had a lot of rain yesterday and i noticed my whole floor was soaked with water...usually it was just around the driver side that i actually noticed but when i actually took the time to check everything the entire floor under the seats and in the rear of the car were sopping wet?

my windshield seal is bad i think (the trim is falling off i need to replace that...but why would the rest of the car be wet as well??

Please help!!!!

There's a reported non-recall on firewall-to-chassis sealers on EGs. Also, if the doors sag at all, water gets in there as well. It's pretty common and it's unlikely you'll find an easy fix.

Does you car have a sunroof if so it might be what happened to my 92 civic si there is a drain tube that is down under the dash in the "a" pillar area that can become disconected and when it rains or car wash my whole floor board got soaked it is an easy fix hope that might help

mine had the drain tube for the sunroof of course that wont apply to you sounds like the windshield area is where I would look maybe under the wiper cowl. There is an opening there for air to come in

found this if it helps at all

There may be water leaking into the passenger footwell because of insufficient sealer on the seam at the firewall. Look for rust on the floor pan and run water over the right lower corner of the windshield to watch for water leaks before buying the car.

this is interesting because mine gets water in the passenger floorboard area and I can see a place on the door seal where the greatest curve is that is "dirty" as if water has been leaking by it, as opposed to the rest of the seal which is "clean" as if it has been sealing properly.

funny thing is i just went outide this morning and found the same thing:it appears as though water is coming in through the grommet in the firewall.my grommet is popped out since i ran some wires through it a couple of years ago,and ive only noticed recently that it was damp, today there was about a half-inch of water on my drivers side floor i will pop the grommet back in today and see if it helps anything.
