Some whack stuff going on my with my R...wondering if anyone has had similar problems.
A couple weeks ago, my car started doing something strange on startup...it would fire, then it would feel like it was running on a couple of cyls, then it would kick into normal operation. It only did this sometimes, and I couldn't find an obvious pattern...finally, it did it long enough to throw a code, but then it went away right after it threw the code, and the CEL went out. A day or two after this, it did it again, threw a code, and this time the code stayed...i pulled the code, 71 and 72. Talked to D, he suggested a valve adjustment, so i did that (everything was basically in spec, is now more so, i had done one just a few thousand miles ago). Cleared the ECU, and it was fine for a week...then, last friday, i started it hot on a very hot humid day, and it threw a code and was running badly constantly....pulled the code, 71 and 73 this time. A friend and I swapped some plugs between positions, but the bad cyls. remained 71 and 73....i drove it home with the CEL blinking, and the car running on 2 and 4. It was parked over the weekend while i moved....then tuesday for the hell of it i fired it up, and it ran fine again. The code is still there in memory, gonna take it in soon to get it checked by dealer under warranty...any thoughts? Could excessive humidity screw with something, because that's the only variable i can think of....
thanks, i'll be sure to post outcome when they pull the DTC #s.

on hot days when i start my car up sometimes itll seem like it is choking trying to get to 1500RPM to warm up. I always prime the fuel pump too. so im sure it is the heat. Ive never thrown a code because of it.
I have yet to see the outdoor temp effect the car's starting, or for that matter anything on or in.
Ya must take it to the dealer and let them check it out, Don't let them see that you have driven on a cel cause they will try to blame more damage on you and try to Not warrenty it.
I understand your need to know the problem before it ...
becarefull and good luck.

I am having a same problem. Check engine light only comes on at idle. I have no idea. May be fuel injector problem or fuel controller.
plugs looked okay, kinda ashy-white, like many other plugs i've seen. the problem does not travel with the plugs, they seem to have no bearing on it.
cylinder misfire for 71,73
I would have to say check the distributor for warn parts (cap, rotor, coil,etc..)
but since its only throwing 2 codes and not all 4 then it might have some thing to do with a injector or the valves but if you just adjusted them then? pulled the same codes today(71,72,73) on my buddies Turbo GSR and I just had to do a little fix-r-upper and it was running.

my car wasn't firing 1 and 3 a while back and it was a wire in the dstributer....put new plugs in if you can get it to do it as soon as it starts....if the plugs don't have any carbon or anything on them then the cylinders definatly aren't firing(that's what mine did)....it was right after I changed plugs too so pulling the wires I may have messed up that wire...maybe yours is just shorting....or maybe it's cause you don't drag race enough....lol

it's still running fine, i'll find out this week what the jolly folks acura can find out about the codes it threw.
Aleph....
This is the Same Problem that I had Last Year. (around September 01)..
It went out by itself until mid-end June.. and I fixed it myself..(remember I called about burning my ECU and fixing my injector?)
Injector no:1 stopped working.. (when the misfire is on for more than 3 days)..
hopefully we know the cause of this problem..
but your problems seemed to be the same like mine.. random CEL 71-72-73..
somehow the last time I have this problem, it's not gone by itself.. but stayed on CEL 71.. hence the Injector replacement..
IM Me if you will... this sounds like DeJaVu to me...
