yea, axles, half-shaft, shift linkage. i have a jack supporting the motor while the tranny is just hanging. i'm wondering if the clutch is locked? do i have to crank it somehow?

pry that bitch... the first time i took mine out we pryed it for like 30 minutes before it came out. Has the tranny ever been out before, is it the original since youve had it or what b/c its prob just stuck real good. maybe youre starter??? i think maybe we pulled my starter off before we took the tranny out to. but i forget its been a while.

look under the tranny in the front and back between the motor and the tranny there are braces that hold the tranny to the motor. dont forget those.

also you will know it's ready if you can spin it partially. You really have to pry, not with a screw driver but pry with a pry bar.

don't forget sometimes the dust shield because that tin held me back from getting it off.

This happened to my friend's F23A5 - and it's an '01. We thought we were missing something, double checked all the bolts, starter was out, everything was d/c, wouldn't budge.

Finally dropped the entire engine out of the car and took a pry bar to it. Took a hell of a lot of effort on a rather large, makeshift, prybar (from both of us), but it was just stuck and needed to be pried apart.

Usually that doesn't happen, but sometimes it does. My Y8 trans came off last time I took it off no prob.
