My valves were ticking bad so i had a friend do a valve adjustment, after that it was still ticking. It ticks so bad even the distrubutor ticks. I took the head apart and I didn't find any bent valves. Does anyone know what else can be causing the tick? Its coming right from my gsr head.

i hear lma's make noise like ticking when they are done, my b16a always ticked even after adjustments and compression always showed good....something to look into

 

lma's? What do you mean lma's? I'm kind of a noob so i dont really know what you mean by lam's.

lack of oil: can a bad oil pump cause this? My oil pump seems fine. The tick before i had my friend do the valve clearance before was just a slight sound but after he did the valve clearance its ticking so loud its almost like a rattle. Even the distrubitor is rattleing. Anyone have any idea?

 

It realy sounds like LMA"S. They are a glorified lifter. They keep the rocker arms from slapping the cam when the motor isn't in vtec. To check them pull the valve cover and push on them, if they have good pressure they are probably good, on the other hand it they don't have good pressure or don't return all the way they are bad. I have had these go bad on 2 motors in one year. It sucks, the only place that I could but them new was the dealer.
