Ill be honest, I've had 2 Type R trans that would grind when I shifted anywhere past 9000 rpms, and the one I have now I got new and 3rd gear always did this. HOWEVER, I believe my problem is that I need to bleed my clutch really well and it might go away, I just haven't actually sat down to try it out. But the grind in our transmissions isn't a uncommon thing...

I'm sorry but that's funny!
Definitely sounds like synchros. A tranny flush and fill is a good place to start though.

This is not a true statement by any means. Search some of the threads for the negatives on the issue...

^^ i personally have tried the GM synchromesh for a thousand miles and it did not cure my old grinding problem. But a new tranny did.

I understand you are asking for help and we are offering our help. First things first, you should check the basics: Bleed your clutch, check your transfluid/change trans fluid.
There isn't much sense to us "diagnosing" an issue when it could be solved by these items. Try these things and check back.
