i dont know you see how many cars r rooling around with jdm fronts none of my freinds had a problem nor did i when it came to the cops
yeah i dont think cops have any idea what a jdm front end it, they see so many of them in cali, they probably just think its a newer generation model integra with a updated front end, if they even think about it
from what iv read, they mostly look for aftermarket, modified lights, different colored lights, lights that are to bright stuff like that, if your headlights are oem they will say honda on them, and just run stock bulbs and you should be fine

Lol, wow your cops check all that. I have an ls with honda badges, and they always come up to the window...derr uhh...is it a honda or acura, because it is registered as acura. Why do you put different car company logos on your car? That doesn't make sense.
Lol, fl cops FTW.

I have had a JDM fronted car for over 7 years and been pulled over more than 10 times and never have they questioned the legality of the front end. The only thing they asked about was the JDM HID because I was blinding the cop through his sideview mirror. I told him it came like that on the 2001 and he left me alone ROFL

i have never known anyone that had to remove their jdm front end. But I have heard of people getting ticket for non compliance headlights.
o.k. it's illegal.
How hard is it to do this mod?
Where's the best place to get all the parts? I don't need the HID lights.
How much will this mod cost? How much to paint all the parts?

1.) Not terribly hard, but that depends on your skill level. I had the front end on in a Saturday, but the wiring took much longer.
2.) I prefer quality over price. Customer service and quality of parts is top priority for me. I recommend: HMotorsOnline, ICBMotorsports
3.) Both of these questions refer to labor rates which will vary by shop. Some shops may have never completed this swap before while others may perform them very often. Paint, same answer. Its best to shop around.

If you live in oakland and dont have a garage i dont suggest it. They will steal the front end right off your car.

Lmao!
Lmao!
the day your cali cops start ticketing you for a jdm front is the day that its time to permanitly park all hondas in the garage as collector pieces.
i dont know how you cali guys live with those cops

its funny how people get mad at cops when they give out exhaust and front license plate tickets, but at the same time they make fun of them for being stupid for not giving them tickets for their jdm front ends.
the point is, its not DOT approved, so either if you get caught or not, you're in violation of DOT codes. if you do get caught, dont complain about it. it was your choice to do it.

this is not even ITR related. Go to appearance and cosmetics, you might find more info. Price/Paint vary by ur local shops, if someone gives you a price and they dont live no where near you, it is not the right price. You might as well go out and do research.
not from cali. but got stopped here in CT for not having a front plate on my jdm front itr. i have all honda badges and he got confused and asked me why i had honda badges on a acura and different front end. I told him i did a front end swap and all he did was matched up the VIN on my car and his records and he was fine with it.
Going rate as of a couple years ago
1750- non HID front
2250- HID front
Depending on your luck, you might get one in good condition that just needs paint and would probably cost at least 1200 for a decent place to paint and install that front end.
If it's really beat up, sky is the limit. As people have stated it will vary depending on the shop, whether they have done it before, what quality paint you are using, condition of parts, etc. I would ball park at least 3000-3500 installed.

i don't think you should really trip about the front end in CA. Lot of times the cop worry more about emission modification then the front end. Just tell them it is stock. Most of them wont even know.
Now a day you can get 96 spec t for like 1300 and 98 spec for like 1800. Look on craigslist or hit up N1 Concept they have deals sometimes. If you don't mind waiting until November, on black Wednesday they call it, I think they sell the 96 spec front end for like 800 I think.

Nothing wrong with N1 but that is no ITR front end. I hear cat carriers are only $19.99.

If you live in a city where there is mostly parallel parking, there are f*ckers who force their cars in to tight spaces and bump your JDM front clip. Even when you can fit a MAC truck in to the space, f*ckers love to bump your front clip.

Becarefull because I knew this member that had his car totaled by insurance becasue he had the front end on it. He was rear ended and it was not that bad but when the adjuster looked at the front he was like wtf and said this does not meet dot. Now the car has a salvage title. But they fixed it and dropped him. And he is still fighting to get the salvage title off. True story.
