poor mans type r ?

Default poor mans type r ?

i have a jdm b16a head and going to buy a b18c1 block .what is needed to make at least 220 whp out of this .my budget is like 2 grand so i dont have to worry about money .also do i have to do anything special to put the head on the block like an ls/vtec or can i just slap them together

research, thousands of these posts, and 2 grand wont get you 220 unless u ghetto rig a turbo, sorry my friend!

The head will bolt right on with no mods but you will need more then 2k or you better be damn good at porting heads.

Lol, money will be a issue if you want to make more than 190 whp SAE.

hell yeahh...you can just slap them together along with some nitrous and be riddin 220+ all day long..

I just spent alot more than Two g's on my lsvtec at king motor sports it 13-1 on pump and unless you have a resouce that really knows how to biuld a motor [cc,portwork.degree the cams] lot of stuff people go to years of school learn this build will never run with that budget.

no, search in the dyno thread and you get a better ideal of where you are.

a poor mans type r will make around 150 to 160 at the most and with 2000 to put in it u prob wont see over 180 totally depending on wat u do of course... put some ctr pistons in it with a good header and exhuast and an intake and a good tune and ide say ur about 170... guessing but then again my friend just built a straight b16 with ctr pistons, full s2 valve train and stage 1 cams, s2 intake manifold and TB, intake, header, injectors, and some other misc. things and made 161 on a good tune

if you really have your heart set on 220whp better turn that 2000 into 10000... or go turbo for cheaper...

**** yall act like if he goes boost he wont make that. my buddy made 232 with a stock turbo z6 motor wiht a decent tune.
