hey everyone
i got a b-16a2 with a skunk2 exhaust and a test pipe and for now untill my hytec header comes in but i got dc header on now but my car is soo dam loud and i cant take it anymore. now if i were to put in a stock cat woulndt that quiet it down somewhat? or is it the exhaust? or what it is it?!?! ahh help haha

 

yeah if you take your test pipe off and install a stock cat, it will quiet it down A LOT. and then you can sell your dc header to me for dirt cheap once your hytec header comes in.

 

well how long is it until your header comes in?? its pointless to drop money if you dont have to..if it means you have to wait a couple weeks with a loud exhaust it won kill you, but if your talking months than i would look into a new mid section pipe like was mentioned

 

well im actually rebuilding my head(which i need another one still just the head no core) and i have the header and the rest of the parts,internals and so on but im waiting till i get more funds so i can put on all my parts which i have but thers no point to take my pipes off and put them back on cuz there gonna have to come off anyway

but yea if anyone wants the header ill sell it and i have other parts too if anyone is interested

yea the stock cat was something i wanted to do but i wasnt sure if that was gonna do it but thanks for the input guys

 

what size skunk you got? i got a 70mm and that **** loud, i can hear my radio anymore when i'm on highway crusing at 70mph, but gets quiter past 100

 

he already said it was loud so it doesnt matter what size it is.....its now narrowing it down to how we can make it quieter...that was a pointless post no offense

Also doing a hundred isnt a common thing was running late for work(5:00am no one on the road). And common your saying you never went 100 or above? you never once had the thought about topping your car out?

 

get a normal muffler, i have a b16 stock header, i do have a cat but i have a worldsport with a custom axle back with a dynomax muffler, and its quiet unless your WOT plus it looks stock but ive driven cars with stock cats with cat-back exhausts and if its the fart-can style its gonna be loud, no matter what. silencers help, but who wants to drive around with a silencer all the time?

its funny cuz i know a bunch of people that have the skunk2 exhaust for there hondas ond most of them are quietsome are a little louder but not even close to mine i dont get i guess its te setup i have maybe idk
but i definitly wanna get a stock cat so if anyone has one and would like to trade or sell cheap let me know thanks

 

IMO Exhausts are the only shitty thing Skunk 2 makes. Too loud and sound like ****

 

That's why 99% of people on this web will always recommend the apex ws2 or the Greddy. In my opinion Skunk2 is the last company I would go to for an exhaust. Just so you know I had the same 1 i hated it I bought the axle back for a apex ws1 from ebay. I got lucky on that one.
