Default Need advise (ima noob) For a built LS

Hey guys,
My current plan is for a built b18a ls NONVTEC for all motor and nitrous. I haven't really decided on a hp goal yet. But with a built motor and direct shot of nos I'm expecting 250hp. That might be a stretch but we'll see.

Right now I have:
B18a short block
Ls head
5 speed ls trans
half shaft
Dizzy
Plug wires

What I am asking is for advise on what parts to get. I honestly have no idea what parts I should get seeing as there are soo many options for pistons to rods to cams.

PLEASE HELP. I'm a member on hondacivicforum.com too but apparently noone wants to help me out. Prove ht is better.

you have to raise the compression. get nice cams and corresponding valvetrain. probably an aftermarket intake manifold, and arp rodbolts

What would you suggest for compression. also how do i know which pistons will fit with a certain set of rods?

between 11:1 and 12:1 is good. aftermarket pistons and rods are "floating pin" style using c clips to hold the pistons and rods together.

oem are press fit style. i think rs machine pistons are the only ones that i know of that can be used with both stock and aftermarket rods without and serious mods, but dont quote me on that.

you gotta search for this stuff, its out there and you can learn a lot right away instead of waiting for people to post up especially over the weekend when its slower

The problem is that you don't appear to know enough about engines and how they work to even be attempting to do what you're wanting to do.

The best advice I or anyone else will give you here is that you need to take your car to someone who is qualified to do what you want to do. Once a person gets beyond basic bolt-ons, which is where you're at now, they require a certain level of knowledge and understanding about motors and how they work, for anyone in this forum to even begin to help you.

Building engines and assembling parts isn't like Lego. Lego can be built by anyone with any skill level with the same results everytime if you follow the same directions. Engines are not like this and once you understand this, you'll understand why people can't just tell you what to do and have you expect to end up with a good result.
