Default gsr idle problems/ vtec not crossing over HELP!

my problem began a couple days ago on my way into work, i noticed that my rpm gauge at a stop light would drop to zero then bump back up to 500rpms, got it to work, cut the car off and started it back up and it wouldn't do it. on the way home that night i noticed that vtec wouldnt cross over....got it home and called a friend, i already planned to put the correct wiring harness on the car...hoping to maybe eliminate some problems...but i was wrong. we got the car wired up correctly, and the car still idles funny, dosn't drop to zero completely now, but it's noticeable, no vtec, and i'm throwing a few codes... it started throwing a TPS code after my friend adjusted the idle on the throttel body, a code for the IAC...which i replaced, and code 22 and 23....i'm stuck , aby help would be greatly appreciated....i have a 99 b18c1 converted to OBD1 in a 92 civic cx

I would think it could be the IAC but you said vtec isn't crossing over. Has it crossed over after you did the swap and harness conversions?

wasnt crossing over before the harness swap, i threw a code for the knock sensor...but now i'm throwing code 22 and 23...possiably a bad connection and a bad knock, wanted a second opinion....what are the symptoms of a bad knock sens, i'm still a little new to all of this

same problem. but mine will sometimes die during the rpm drop otherwise the idle problem is the same. VTEC is the same except it doesnt engage at all and if i get on it its got power til about 4400 then it ***** out and it doesnt want to rev past 7000. it does that in 1st gear 2nd gear and in third gear around 6k-6500 rpm its like i have a gov and i wont let me accel hard anymore. if i put it in 5th ease on the throttle it wont let me get past 100mph same thing as third when i get on it in 1st 2nd and third. I have tried a VTEC solenoid and ecu outta buddies car which runs just fine. its throwing 2 codes 22 and 67 which is "VTEC system malfunction" and "Catalyst system efficiency below threshold" how would i fix these 2 codes. i have stock fpr and a high flow cat and replaced the Oxygen sensors with the Universal Bosch sensors.

No VTEC is definately a symptom of a bad knock sensor... but the other thing is, a knock sensor, senses abnormal vibration in the engine. So just by replacing the knock sensor, may clear the code, but you might just be sweeping a signifficantly larger problem under the carpet.

ok my throw out bearing is knocking really bad around 2500 rpm and up. would that cause the sensor to do this? i noticed that when it started knocking the vtec stopped working shortly after.
