Default Simple Swap Question.

I swapped my d15b8 for a d15b7. This is in an EH2 as many of you know by the engine code. My question is about the o2 sensor. The b8 had a one wire o2 sensor and the b7 has a four wire. i left the b7 harness on the engine and plugged it into the original b8 shock tower harness in a 1994 EH2. my CEL is lit and i vaguely remember that i had to wire up something even though its plug and play.

Symptoms:
High Idle (not from IACV, known because when first started before CEL comes on idle is fine)
CEL (have yet to pull the code)
Car running rich (black on bumper)

Are you still using the P05 ECU, or did you install the P06?

You're not supposed to have to wire anything. The wires for the O2 sensor are already run to the shock tower plug, if you used the DX harness its all plug and play. What O2 sensor are you using and what year is the harness out of, I ask this because if the harness is from a '92 - '93 you will not have a connector for the map sensor.

The b7 and harness are from a 92. The EH2 is a 94. How can I fix the Map Sensor problem?

Take apart your old B8 harness, follow the map sensor wires to the shock tower plug, put this section of the wiring into the new B7 harness and pin the wires in the same location on the shock tower plug. Thats the second best option, best, or easiest option would be to get a '94 - '95 DX/LX harness.

I completely forgot, no there isn't a map sensor on the engine, which is why you probably never noticed it. heres whats going on, '92 - '93 civcs with D15B7s used a firewall mounted map sensor, these had a vaccum line running from the map sensor to the top of the throttle body, '94 - '95 D15B7s used a throttle body mounted map sensor, cars equipped with the firewall mounted map sensor had a seperate harness for the map sensor, it runs straight from the ECU to the map sensor, '94 - '95 have the wiring integrated into the engine harness, as do all D15B8s. Either get a firewall mounted map sensor or a '94 - '95 D15B7 throttle body, D16Z6 '92 - '95 should work as well.
