my buddy is running a B16A2 in his hatch what ecu is best to run with this motor it currently has a p72 (gsr) ecu and only revs to 6200 rpms. Its basically stock header exhaust intake thats it.

ecu is messed up or he got jipped. a p72 should be able to rev past 6200. the best ecu imo is a chipped p28 or get a pr3? i think that's the code for the b16a obd1 ecu

 

he only paid 2K for the car came with hasport mounts and shift linkages and the body is in great shape either way i dont think he got jipped. but there is a rats nest wiring job under the paasenger carpet lol

 

if u guys are really interested in finding out the problem i would check out that "rat nest" of wires and make sure everyone is wired up correct. easiest fix is a chipped p28/pr3 ecu. this is the half a$$ way of fixing it. if it doesnt fix the problem then he has messed up ecu wirings.
