Default Y1, S1 Tranny Question

Currently running a b16a1. My tranny will soon grenade (grinding in 2nd and 3rd now). Wondering if it's better to get a rebuilt using the same set up as the Integra 90-93 GSR (b17a ys1 i think) or purchase a new one? Any insights?

A rebuilt tranny is as good as new and the Ys1 is a better tranny than your Y1 because of the LSD. I'm using a Y1 (b16 tranny) on my LS and I've been looking for a YS1 (cable) for the longest time.

If I were you, I would go for the ys1 because first off, the y1 is hard to find and expensive. Second, the y1 has synchro problems from the factory (so if you found another the same thing could happen). The ys1 at least you can get parts for here in the states. I'm keeping my y1, getting a synchro kit from JDM_DOHC_SIR (I think thats it) because I have a lsd in my y1 and I want to keep it.

YS1 has a factory LSD?

Hmm, thx.

Alright I guess rebuild it is. I also just got a Spoon Chromoly flywheel... can't wait to get that thing in there as well.
