Default Noisy Air Compressor

I have a 1994 Honda Prelude Si with a very noisy air compressor. It makes a huge whining noise. The A/C blows cold air, but the noise is loud and quite embarrassing. Where should I look for the cause of the problem? How can I fix this?

Your Wheels are squeeling. Could be the belt. You can try belt dressing, or pos WD40 to see if it stops. But dont squirt the belt with WD40.

my car is doing that too would it be the bearing in side the pulley?

I have heard it is either the belt or the bearing in the pulley. I have also heard that if it is the bearing in the pulley, it might be best to replace the compressor. I haven't taken it in for a diagnostics yet. I know a/c work is very expensive.

If it is the bearing in the clutch/pulley assy, then just replace the clutch/pulley assy. That way no evac/rechg to the system save $$.

bearings tend to whine/drone/annoy, clutch assy is definately the way to go as well while it's apart. i have about 5 of these ac comprssors in the shop that are known to be good. make an offer if you like, but i'm situated in canada. these comprssor in canada go for about 500 easy new

okay sooo i did the belt on the ac and all and took that pully out and sprayed sum lubricant on it and it is no making this screeching noise now when i shift gears tensioner to tight i think??? idk....

does the pulley line up with the alt and crank? honda belt need to be stoopid tight usually not to squeal. might be the other way around, try tightening...maybe?
