Okay, I drove home from work and reved up to 8800rpm with no problems. Then I took the BFG DRAG radials into my trunck and droved with a friend to a straight street. Then we changed the tires and we wanted to measure the acceleration with Gtech. A little burn out (damn, the BFGs pulled my car about 5 meters while the e-brake was fully on)
Okay, we calibrated the Gtech and I started. But once of a sudden the engine stutters above 7000rpm. In all gears at low boost too. We changed the spark plugs. It was dark already, but we had a flash light. New run, but the same results.
The eninge runs great up to 7000rpm, but then there is something wrong!
Can this be ignition fault? Maybe time for a new distributor or something?
Damn, and this 5 days before a huge DRAG event, I'm scared! Guys plesae help out quick
oh yeah, I have stock ignition, Fuel press was fine too
I run max 1.2 Bar boost for 7500 miles not once of a problem. It happend yesterday suddenly. I use NGK copper plugs heat range 7 with plugs stock gap for also 7500 miles with no problems.
Perhaps the plug wires are defect?

The fact that it only happens above 7000 rpm makes me think it's engine knock (pinging).... So, lowering boost didn't help?
How about retarding the ignition timing a bit....
Was it hot that day?

No, I don't think it is knock, why should it suddenly knock? It was a realy cool night about 20 degrees C. It happens on all boost setting.
I filled up the gas tank with RON 99 (like every time) but same things happen. WTF only 1 day time to order parts from Honda to get em on friday.
I hope a spark plug wire and a distributor is stock in Vienna. I have 1 autoX and 1 DRAG event on sunday, won't miss it. Biggest DRAG event in Austria.

yeah, I asked him, he also thinks distributor and/or spark plug wires. Honda distributors are known to be waek. Too bad, that the distributor fom B16A2 or any other Honda engine do not fit. I only know 1 Integra driver in my area to test his distributor on mine, but he has no time until friday....and friday is too late to order a new one from Honda. DAMN, what a mess.
I have to measure the impendance of the wires in 3 hours, than I will know more.

I don' t have retarded the timing yet, why should I, engine runed always great with my setted ignition and fuel maps. Even on low boost is this problem. It is a rev depend problem and not a boost dependend one.
Stock ignition was always good enough, even on high boost I had no troubles to get enough spark. When the ignition would be that bad, I should not be bale to boost that much like I did the past 4 month.
