Default Question about crank vent...

Hi everyone,
I have a problem since i installed the crank vent on my 2001. Everytime after a good spirited ride I pop my hood and my dip stick is shot out of its spot and there is some oil that has spewed out of the hole where the dip stick is. And when I open the oil cap on the valve cover after a ride it has alot of suction, a big wooosh sound, so i dont understand why the dip stick shot out. Any idea on what is the problem? Thanks in advance.

Maybe you installed it backwards? You are experiencing excessive blow by and the pressure is not being released as it should, causing crank case pressure.

At idle, you are probably not going to feel the pressure. It builds with piston speed.

I installed it in order to make the pressure goes to the intake pipe and the other near the pcv goes to. the intake. I dont know why the dip stick shot out it doesnt make sens. Is it backward ?

This is the direction crankcase pressure should be going... if you take off the krank vent and can't blow in to it the direction the arrows indicate, it is backwards.

check it one more time, krank vent is just a one way/check valve. Try blow air one way to see if it's sealing or not

yes i check 2 time , but only the one near the breater pipe. I try to put only one near the pcv and the dip stick stay in place. I put the second and the problem start again. Maybe the hole on the vent are too small?

They benefit the car more when they are under a boosted application. The factory PCV isn't strong enough to withstand minor boost levels. These Krank Vents are tested to (correct me if I'm wrong) around 150 PSI. I'm not quite positive how they stop oil burning or oil consumption issues, but I had a Cusco catch can on mine, it blew smoke and burned about 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. After I added Krank Vents inline to the catch can and the intake side, my oil consumption and smoking have disappeared.

If the one for your PCV valve prevents your dipstick from popping out, I would suggest only running the one to your PCV valve.

When i have only the one near the pcv, the oil burning start again. Whit the two, it reduce alot oil consumption. It have suction in the engine when i open the oil cap, but sometimes the dip stick shot out. I really dont understand. Also i never change the stock pcv, maybe i have to?

TAKE OFF THE VENTS AND SELL THEM!

You do not need them and they were not designed for this application. Put your stock PCV valve back in. You engine needs to be able to breathe in and out in the head, so you will have a bit of vacuum and a bit pressure at different points in time.
