Default adjusting cam gear

hey guys does anybody know how many degrees i could advance the cam gear without damagind any internals, im running a D16Z6 with only a few bolt-ons, no internal work done. I have only advanced the gear 1 degree and i could feel the car running a bit better, i wanted to keep advancing but i dont know how much i could, any input would be great, thanks for your help

On my 90 hatch I took the belt and advanced it a whole tooth and went around and beat on it with no interferance problems. Didn't hit powerband till about 6100 RPMS though. I would probably go about half a tooths worth at most. I would just advance it another degree or 2 and see how that goes. As far as the max before interferance, I don't know.

Adjustable cam gears are just bling...unless you're F/I and have a tuner doing adjustments on it as needed. Even alot of the boosted setup run the factory cam gear...it's just not needed in your case. Sell it!
