Default Adapting 1000RR cluster?

Anyone in here adapter motorcycle clusters for use in their project car? I'm interested in giving this a shot. I really like the look off the 1000rr cluster:

Have you thought about the stack gauges?

I would assume that he would want to do this, in addition to it looking great, because it would be more cost effective....

Have you thought about spending 2k on a dash?

And if so go with the Motec dash.

I have a Racpak in my car. Wires into your stock sensor such as speed, rpm, fuel level, turn signals, high beam indicator. Plus caomes with a few other goodies such as oil temp, oil pressure and water temp sensor. for 725 you can beat that.

You have to know the signal types it uses for the speedometer and rev/m and the rest is pretty much a walk in the park.

I would use a stack (love the tach), motec, or racepack cluster if I had that kinda of money to throw at it. Guess I'll just get a 1000rr cluster and give it a shot.

I'm looking at a 2005 cluster. If you could tell me the wiring pinout that would be a great help.

Regards,
Justin

probably just need some signal convertors, I remember seeing them but I don't know where. The rr cluster probably expects 1 pulse per revolution for tach, I don't have a clue what the speedo would be. Temp sensors are probably the same, but you will need to check the fsm for specs.

I was thinking of using an F4i cluster.

With a racepak street dash no vnet is needed.

Vnet is only needed if you want to display other readings such boost, air temps and etc.

with the street dash you configure it to your car. for the speed you drive at 30mph for 1/4 of mile so that the dash can setup the speed signal type.

for 725 you cant really beat it.

a stack instrument cluster is 1300 from pegasus with all the sensors.

Unless you need a lap timer, that ***** under 1500 shipped.

Id take ole boys suggestion and get the racepak. Those are really nice units. AIM makes a good one also.

I just dont see alot of need for a 13k rpm tach though. seems pointless since any cam made for a honda does not make power past 10 most times.

I'm pretty sure he doesnt want to spend that kind of money. He doesnt want to rev to 13K but its nice to have.

Do a build thread; I have considered using bike clusters on a couple of cars, but it just never worked out (timing wise). Would love to see how it turns out and would really love to have you sort out any signal conversion issues so I don't have to. ; )

We were thinking of using that exact dash for our Formula car.

I have the wire diagram for it. I'll post a link tonight when I get home.
