Default '00 LS Randomly died, but came back to life...

A little on the car:

2000 LS
120k miles
Water pump, timing belt recently done
Oil changed every 3-3.5k
AEM SRI

I was driving home from work, and once I pulled into my driveway I let off the gas and went to turn the car just died--I didn't even notice until I went to steer! No sputtering, no noise, nothing, just...death.

I attempted to start the car back up, and it came back to life, sputtered, and died again. I popped the hood, checked the oil, and let it sit for a few minutes, started it up again and it was perfectly fine.

Here's where some of you will jump on me--my Maint Req'd light has been on for a little while now--I just haven't had time to deal with it. The major and minor stuff has been done (wp/tb, oil changes, etc.) so I've no idea what it could be.

Help? I'd hate for this to happen when I'm on the road!

the maintence required light means nothing...its just a reminder light to keep up on youur oil changes and stuff, there is a button under the dash that you have to push to turn it off....ummmm sounds like you possibly got some bad gas in there. Maybe a little misfiring going on. check out your plugs and see how they look, look for a frayed wire or something......but if it came back to life i would assume some shitty gas, bad plug/wire, or a clogged injector was at fault

I'll definitely check the plugs, and look over the wires more carefully.

But yeah, no CEL, nothing! Drove it around for the rest of the day and it was as if nothing ever happened. No issues for as long as I've had it up until this point.

Thanks for letting me know about the maint req'd button! MAN I was wondering wtf do I do with it?

Check if your battery is connected correctly...and tightened. My negative hook was loose and my car kept dying at random moments....Didn't know wtf was up with my car until i thought back when I gave a friend a jump when his car battery died.
