Default Rode in a B16 CX :)

Well this is the fastest car I have ever ridden in (i know its kinda sad but i'm still in highschool). Well this thing kicked ***. All it had was I/H/E with a Type R tranmission with LSD and a act clutch and a GSR intake manifold but wow this thing was fast (to me). I swear passing people was so easy its not even funny. We were cruising around 45-55 and my friend downshifted and punched it, I don't know if I almost bust a nut or **** myself, it was so cool. And that was all with a B16, I couldnt only imagine what a CRVTEC hatch would be like, or an H22A one. Well just thought I would share my story. Sorry if for some of you a b16 hatch is slow but to me it was fast enough to make my mouth drop.

GSR intake manifold
wouldnt the IAB and secondaries suck?? Why would you want this on a B16A when you can get the R one, unless you meant R intake manifold???

this is what my friend says, he is kinda a ricer and doesn't know much about cars just gives the shop money to make his car fast. I know a fair amount just not in detail to know the difference among manifolds...

That's what I plan on building as soon as i find a hatch around here for the right price. Everyone seems to be asking 8grand for a CX or DX hatch. I know I can find one between 2000-3000.

from what ive heard, the GSR intake manifold can produce more mid-range torque due to the different runners, which would be a good thing on a b16, and the b16 and ITR intake manifold produces more top end power... i just didnt know it fits on a b16 head, anyway, i could be completely wrong, but i just wanted to throw that out there.

Pointless if you are running any ecu other than P72 GSR to make those IAB work.

I know everyone makes fun of the Vtec kicking in thing, but on those cars it is just insane. Madd power rush.

I driven my friends B16/CRX. I hated it. It shook the car more than anything.

I've been in a 2000 civic si with a B16 motor and it was exciting when the v-tec kicks in but it was nothing compared to the ITR that i drove. Unfortunately for me im still stuck with a 95 civic ex coupe with the wonderful D16 motor. One of these days I will have a B18C5 motor in there.

I interested as to how and why your friend put a GSR IM on a B16? Also, if you think that's fast, come by my way and we'll take a ride in my friends boosted H22 CX, it's a bit fast.

When I first got my swap, it felt really fast. Now that 2 months have past, i wish i dropped a H22 in there.
also if your friend has a gs-r intake manifold, he may be running a gs-r head on a B16A which will yield higher compression which means more power. I recently sold a Hybrid motor like that and the f_cker was peppy as hell.

he might actually be running a GSR head too, he has the shop do all his work and his word is as reliable as a rx7

Yeah, wait till you own one.

The day I ran my best time (14.0) I thought my car was running like total **** and didn't even want to race.

Car feels so slow it's not even funny.

I'm just glad I'm too poor to sink any more money in this thing.
