Default idle goes up and down between 1500rpm and 1100rpm on cold start.

Just did a engine swap the other day for a friend, and notice that the idle isn't the same anymore. Before, idle was perfect, cold start or warm start was normal, but now idle jumps up to 1500rpm for couple of sec and goes down to 1100rpm for couple of secs and goes back up on cold start........ the set-up before was a stock b16, now is a stock internal b20v with bolt ons, and there is also no check engine light!

Here's a little video on cold start, maybe it might give u guys a better idea of what im talking about.

Check the fast idle valve , they tend to loosen up internally and they start to idle like that when cold. Eventually it is going to get worse unless you open it and tighten it up. Try that and let me know.

I agree it sounds like the FITV. I went through the "non-sense" of fixing it twice then I removed it and the problem went away.

given that it idled fine on a B16 does not imply it will on a b20. You need to get some tunning done.

I just check the TPS with a Voltmeter cause we had to switch from the stock TB to the 68mm TB, it's at 0.93 when tb is closed, and 4.85 at WOT.... is that normal or is it off??
