whats going on with my timing? I need an expert
ok I have a 93 lude with a h23a bluetop vtec obd1 now a shop did my swap and when i went to take it home i noticed it did'nt hit vtec it would just bog and put. so i brought it back and we still cant get it right...
when we line everything up the way it should it runs like *** the only way to get it to run right is to set the camgears all the way opposite of each other what is wrong here?? I am blowing money i should'nt to get this car running Please help me...... me nor the shop can get this...

also if you have cam gears was the timing belt installed correctly? whats the base ignition timing read?
sorry man i was outside i got stock h23 injectors from my old motor and a p14 ecu or the p13 whatever one is for the vtec sorry i forgot.. and the belt was installed right we did it 3 times and the ignition timing was on the red mark but when i brung it to the performance shop thay said it was 15 degrease off..so thay told me to set the crank to the red mark.. so we did today and it runs like ***...
Well if you set the crank timing gear to the line on the oil pump and the the cam gears pointing up and the side marks level with the top of the cylinder head your belt is where it needs to be. Timing should be close at that point, about 15 degrees advanced at idle. I'm not sure exactly which red mark you are reffering to but I think you mean on the flywheel, there should be a mark on the flywheel at 15 degrees advanced that you will use a timing light to line up (timing light set to zero)
Search around on here and find out exactly how to set you timing, I have a different ecu (aem ems) and I do it a bit differently.
If the timing is on I am going to say that the problem lies in your injectors. You should be running H22 obd1 injectors with the P13 (H22) ecu. The stock H23 injectors are smaller than the H22's so they arent going to give you the fuel you need which is probably why you are expieriencing the stumble.

ok so i might have to get thoes (injectors) because everything lines up dead nuts and it runs like ****..would that cause vtec not to kick in...when i go to hit it, it kind of pops and just sounds like ****..

H22 injectors are 345cc
changing cam timing will change how air is brought into the engine, which is directly related to how much fuel is needed. moving the exhaust cam will also affect ignition timing since the dizzy is on the other end.

I gurantee 100% that the injectors are causing your problem. I had an issue sometime ago with injectors and I learned the hard way all about the effects of diffrent injectors. Make sure you get the proper injectors for your application.
i'm going with injectors also. I did the opposite, mine were too big and the ecu was trying to lean itself out. caused a bad miss when cruising. ran ok when you were "on it" but it would drive you nuts. Hondata solved that.
